Pneumatic tourniquet is a commonly used device in limb trauma surgery, which can significantly reduce wound bleeding, make the surgical field of view clear, and various tissues are easy to identify and easy to operate. The use of ordinary tourniquet in limb surgery can temporarily block the blood supply of the limb, provide a bleeding-free surgical field of view for the operation, and reduce bleeding.
Attention should be paid to the use of pneumatic tourniquet:
1. Check the tourniquet before use and check for air leaks.
2. Select the appropriate cuff width and length according to the patient's gender, age, body shape and surgical site.
3. The upper limb tourniquet is placed on the upper 1/3 of the upper arm, and the lower limb is placed on the upper 1/3 of the femur, as close to the thigh root as possible. The tourniquet not only has good hemostasis effect, but also is not easy to damage nerves.
4. For the binding part, the limbs are evenly and smoothly wrapped in the protective sheath or paper cotton, and wound several times. While protecting the limbs, the limbs are evenly stressed.
5. When disinfecting limbs, care should be taken to avoid residual disinfectant solution under the skin tourniquet, and disinfection work should be done with non-drip sterile gauze.
6. If the operation takes a long time, the blood flow of the limb should be temporarily restored within 10-15 minutes after the amputation.
7. After the operation, cut the wound surface, loosen the tourniquet after bandaging with pressure. In addition, the ventilation should be slow, so the ventilation time should not be less than 1 minute, so as to avoid shock tourniquet. After the cuff is taken out, check the local skin for redness, swelling and blood bubbles.
8. The tourniquet should avoid high-temperature disinfection and cannot be washed with hot water, otherwise it will accelerate the aging of rubber products.
